SMTP-Relay Service for Unauthenticated SMTP

ISC has created the SMTP-Relay service to allow unauthenticated SMTP for certain devices which are capable of sending email, but are not able to authenticate, e.g. certain desktop applications and scan-to-email Scanners/MFPs. Registering a device (such as a copier/scanner) with ISC which allows that device to scan documents to external email addresses. Currently, without registering, these devices can only scan to Penn email addresses, and desktop applications may not be able to send email at all.

SMTP-Relay can send to addresses on any of the following servers:

  • ac.upenn.edu
  • admissions.upenn.edu
  • ben.dev.upenn.edu
  • dental.upenn.edu
