Specific Charges for 2001-2002

All Specific Charges are in addition to each committee's "General" Charge in the Council Bylaws

1. Continue monitoring the Barnes and Noble operation of the University Bookstore. Evaluate the profiling, merchandising, and layout of the Bookstore. Does the stock of titles include an appropriate representation of scholarly texts, or has their been an inappropriate shift toward popular titles?

2. Evaluate the current status of textbook availability for students. Are there supply problems other than delays in faculty announcements of text selections? Can text purchase and delivery be improved?

3. Evaluate the desirability of a discount for University students, faculty, and staff at a major online bookseller- Barnes and Noble, or a competitor.
