Specific Charges for 2002-2003

All Specific Charges are in addition to each committee's "General" Charge in the Council Bylaws

1. Evaluate the effectiveness of the early decision admissions in securing Penn the best possible incoming freshman class. Investigate potential drawbacks to early admissions for Penn and for prospective students such as the possibility of socio-economic biases in this process, and suggest ways to ameliorate real problems.

2. Investigate whether the admissions process inappropriately discriminates against various admissions pools, for example, against very strong students who do not apply for early decision.
