Specific Charges for 2001-2002

All Specific Charges are in addition to each committee's "General" Charge in the Council Bylaws

1. Examine the cost in time and resources to investigators in complying with regulatory requirements in human and animal studies. Work with the administration to improve investigator education and to make the compliance processes simpler and more convenient. Investigate online investigator training and submission of forms.

2. Review the role of research in undergraduate programs. Ensure that adequate research opportunities are available to undergraduates.

3. Continue to work with the Office of Post-Doctoral Programs in the School of Medicine in the development of policies concerning post-doctoral fellows, in particular addressing grievance mechanisms, mentor training, and issues related to early dismissals. Assess the extension of the School of Medicine's post-doctoral policies to other schools.

4. Report to Council on Indirect Cost Allocation and the true costs of research at the University.
